Project partners are being selected according to the main concept of four Project Components. Thus the activities can be properly coordinated and expected outcomes more be precise. 

Capacity building to empower National Committee for Combating Desertification (NCCD) (Component 1) will be done by the project with assistance of the Ministry of Nature, Environement and Tourism with the aim to enable NCCD to maintain the database on indigenous technologies and best practices in combating desertification (Component 4).

The implementation of the concrete actions in community management and the introduction of more sustainable resource use practices in the frame of the Component 2 will be also undertaken with the collaboration with Khovd aimag Governor's Administration office and local users. Civil society as well as professional organizations and research institutions will be contracted to implement concrete aspects of that component.

The intergation of the concept of Education for Sustainalbe Development (ESD) and testing of eco-school concept  trough the Component 3 is made iin collaboration with the monistry of Education, Culture and Sciences. Informal education and public awareness will lay with national and local mass media and others.

The huge distances in Mongolia require that the implementation of regional planning and community empowerment is supported by localized Project Implementation Units (PIUs). The project has an office in Ulaanbaatar and in Khovd Aimag.
